ACHMAD BASUKI received a B.Eng in Electrical Engineering from Universitas Brawijaya in 2000. Afterward, he was deeply involved in building a campus network, a side part of his role as a lecturer. He holds a Master's and Ph.D. from Keio University, Japan, in 2008 and 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Jun Murai, known as the “Internet Samurai” Japan. He is now an associate professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Brawijaya, where he also serves as the head of the Informatics Engineering Department. He has actively coordinated and managed the Indonesia Research and Education Network (IDREN) to support research and education activities in Indonesia since 2014. He has extensive experience operating and managing enterprise networks, such as campus and research education networks, for over 20 years. His area of expertise includes Programmable Networking, IP multicast, and Cybersecurity. He has been active in numerous international research collaborations: SOI-Asia project (soi.asia), AI3 (ai3.net), Erasmus+ Projects, ASEAN-IVO Projects, ASEAN-India Collaborative R&D, ARENA-PAC (arena-pac.net). Recently, he has played an essential role in realizing the ARENA-PAC Indonesia 100 Gbps link for IDREN and received Dr. Suguru Yamaguchi Memorial Award.
